I am about to mount my P/c 309 laminate trimmer on my new Williams Jig. My question is now do you get accurate depth for grove. The 309 sits in a split cylindar with a screw to tighten and loosen the cylindar around the router. The depth of cut determined by how much you raise or lower the router in the cylinder.

I always do test cuts on scrap and adjust as needed . I never adjust on my work

Just has Michael says....I tested on scrap and would fit the binding/purfing in the test cut. I would do this until I was happy with the results.

do a rough setting by butting something of binding strip width, say a piece of binding, up against he doughnut touching the side of the bit and holding it on place with a piece of flat stock. adjust trimmer down so bit touchs flat stock. you can add shims betweem bit and flat stock to allow the binding to stand proud if you like to scrape down to final fit. and as mentioned above, always, always, without fail, test on scrap, not your sound box.

the 309 has a rather coarse twist depth adjustment   mechanism, so it may take a few attempts before you get it where you want it. crazymanmichael38475.7969907407

Course is putting it mildly. I love the 309 but am disappointed in how it adjusts. Thanks for the proceedure. I will use it.
